Trevi Fountain

As soon as we landed in Rome we started off our adventure! Straight to Trevi Fountain we went. Walking through the alleys of Rome, I didn't think that something so massive and majestic would be waiting for my arrival. The streets are packed with tourists and stands selling fruits, novelty items, scarfs, purses and of course gelato. I can feel the warm Italian sun shining down upon my cheeks. Without even realizing, I'm right smack dab in the middle of streets, staring at the Trevi Fountain. All I could do was stand there and smile. One of my friends grabbed onto my arm and we ran down the stone steps, waited patiently for other tourists to move out of the way, and posed for that perfect picture, right in front of the fountain. I reached into my purse and pulled out a quarter I saved, specifically to throw into the water. I held my quarter with my right hand, and threw it over my left shoulder. One day, I will return to this very spot.

The Layover in Frankfurt: Destination Rome

What an awesome welcoming?
As soon as we entered the German border, the sky cleared up, and the weather was beautiful! The nine plus hour flight went great! I sat next to two other girls and made some new friends that were apart of our group.
Going through customs was, uh, interesting. Two of the most gorgeous German men checked my passport. Better yet, they both were flirting with us. Talk about being flustered. After getting a hold of ourselves, we were directed into the "mall" of the airport. Perfume, chocolate, beer and clothing outlets lined the halls as we walked to our next departure gate. I was so tempted to buy all of it.

Layovers are a great way to catch up on some sleep, so thats what I'll be doing for the next 2 and a half hours. Goodnight United States!

Detroit Airport

The day has finally come!

Dad and Brandon dropped me off around 2:30 today at the Metro Detroit Airport for my departure to Frankfort, Germany. This is my first time flying! I'm so excited, but I'm so nervous! Lufthansa is the airline that we're flying with throughout the entire trip. Lets hope I get a window seat!
